I found out on Saturday that the Oct. 15 game is an evening game against St. Mary's - 7 pm, I think. Admission to the games is $4 per person, children 6 and under free.

Hi Katie,
We would like to do a year 1/8 page ad. I'd like to use our business card, but add a sentence about guests of residents in Tower Grove East will receive a 10% discount. How do I do that? Can I pay with Paypal and bring the card to you? Sorry to be so dense about this....

The banners will in no way replace the existing wrought iron signs. Up to three broken wrought iron signs can be replaced with the left over wrought iron signs from the orginal production. I only have 3. The details need to be worked out on the number of banners and will be a topic of negotiation in the near future with the alderwoman.

Just to follow up some comments that were made on the listserve, I think there is some confusion about the banners.

Will they replace the iron signs or simply supplement them? If it's the latter where will the banners be located and how long will they stay up?

Although I think #2 is the best of the three, I agree that we should do whatever we can to keep the wrought iron signs present and in good repair.

Broken sign locations:
- Around 3103 Arsenal (just east of Michigan)
- Gravois and Utah/Louisiana

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but the principal of Roosevelt, in my opinion, is hardly running a tight ship. Need I remind everyone of the rash of burglaries committed by Roosevelt students last fall, crimes only possible because Roosevelt's staff has no control over their students? A friend of mine told me that she was recently in Roosevelt during school hours, and as she walked down the hall with an administrator, during class, she passed dozens of students lounging around in the hallways, horsing around and obviously not learning. The administrator did not challenge a single one of them. I think we have a long ways to go before the principal of Roosevelt can be considered one of the top 100 in the nation.

Having lived in Tower Grove East for several years only two blocks away from Roosevelt, I can say with certainty that this was the worst year for problems leaking out into the neighborhood from the school.
