Dr. Kelvin Adams to give presentation and gather feedback from community
The St. Louis Public School District will host two public forums to gather feedback from the community regarding a series of academic initiatives proposed for the 2011/12 school year. Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Adams will share the feedback with the Special Administrative Board prior to a vote on the initiatives scheduled for the March 10, 2011 SAB meeting.
The first public forum will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Roosevelt High School, 3230 Hartford. The second public forum will be held at 9am on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Vashon High School, 3035 Cass. Both forums will include a presentation of the initiatives by Dr. Adams, along with a period for questions and comments from the community.
Dr. Adams’ presentation, “Creating Great Options,” outlines a series of academic initiatives and programs that will increase quality options for students in St. Louis City. His presentation covers four main areas:
- Early Childhood Education
- A Portfolio of Schools
- School Choice
- Performance Driven Schools
For those unable to attend the public forums, the “Creating Great Options” slide show is available on the St. Louis Public School District website under the shortcuts tab (Board Presentations link) at www.slps.org.
