For the past 32 years, Tower Grove East has had a booth at the VP Fair/ Fair Saint Louis/Live on the Levee. This year we are back to participating in Fair Saint Louis over the Fourth of July weekend. The booth is open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, July 5th and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 6th. While the Fair is open on the 4th, TGE will not have a booth that day. We will sell draft beer and plastic bottles of soda, and water. Our booth will be located near the north leg of the Arch. We will have a 60-foot booth and need about 35 volunteers to staff it each shift. Shifts are typically 4 hours but we would appreciate whatever time you can give to help TGE. We need about 100 shifts over the two days. This is our largest fund raiser and hopefully we will net over $5,000.

The Fair will be a more traditional Fair this year like last year. The main stage will again be under the Arch. The Friday entertainment is Bret Michaels at 8 p.m. Saturday’s entertainment is local bands followed by Counting Crows at 8. Both evenings will end with fireworks.

This year in an effort to get more people trained in serving alcohol, there is an online program available. Rather than the TIPS program which took 3 hours not including travel time, the online program offered by the department of liquor control only takes about an hour and can be completed at your leisure. Let me know if you are willing to do this and I will sign you up for the program.

For those of you who have helped in the past, if you would respond directly to me it will save me having to call and asking you personally. Please let me know if you are willing to help work and which day, if you are unable to participate this year, or if you are not interested. I will send more details to those of you who are planning to help.

If you have not helped in the recent past and are interested in helping this year, please let me know. I will be at the neighborhood meeting on tonight, Tuesday, June 25 at Tower Grove Abbey if you would like to sign up or get more information.

If you have any questions, either email me at
or call me at 283-5288.

Thank you in advance for your response and help.
