New Trees for Tower Grove East

Forestry is scheduled to plant upwards of 73 new trees in Tower Grove East. It is important that these trees receive extra care after their initial planting.

These young trees have been pampered at the nursery. When they are planted some of their root structure is lost or damaged, and they are being planted in an area often referred to as a “Hell Strip”, a very inhospitable planting area. It is important that these newly planted trees are given extra care over the next 2-3 years as they start to acclimate to their new surroundings. They will establish into their new planting space but they need some help.

Making sure the tree is well watered is the most important thing you can do to make sure your tree survives and that requires two things: proper mulching and consistent watering. Click the links for more info about both. Depending on the method you choose for watering, you’ll need some supplies. See our suggestions below:
